Domestic Violence

Domestic Violence is a specialized form of Assault or Battery, and may be charged as a misdemeanor or a felony. The penalties are enhanced, and the consequences are far more serious.  Megan works with the accused and family members in appropriate cases for the court to permit contact while the case is pending.  The State often requires the alleged victim to attend a class and fill out paperwork requesting contact before agreeing to non-violent contact.
